MSc RSGI student @ EGU 2025
The European Geosciences Union (EGU) is the leading organization for Earth, planetary and space science research in Europe. With partner organizations worldwide, the EGU fosters fundamental geoscience research, alongside applied research that addresses key societal and environmental challenges. The vision of EGU is to realize a sustainable and just future for humanity and for the planet (EGU). Therefore, the EGU fits ivery well with the self-understanding of the KIT MSc program ‘Remote Sensing and Geoinformatics (RSGI).
The yearly held EGU General Assembly welcomed in 2025 20,984 registered attendees, of which 18,646 made their way to Vienna (Austria) from 120 countries and 2,338 joined online from 104 countries. There were 18,934 presentations in 1,102 sessions (EGU 2025).
At KIT, the research university in the Helmholtz Association, we create and impart knowledge for the society and the environmen. Therefore, we offer research-based study programs to prepare our students for responsible positions in society, industry, and science.
Combining KIT’s and EGU’s missions, it seems organic to us, to motivate our students to network and participate – during their study at KIT – in scientific meetings. In this regard, MSc RSGI student Alfredo Zárate Uribe presented the findings of his Lab Rotation at EGU 2025 on a poster (link auf das Poster).
